CHARLESTON, W.VA (WOWK) – UPDATE 2/11/18 (7:00p,):
Bryan Ogle has been released from CAMC and is now being held at the South Central Regional Jail. Ogle is charged with attempted murder, malicious wounding, disarming an officer, wanton endangerment, prohibited person with firearm and felony Escape.
UPDATE 2/10/18 (5:15pm):
Charleston Police Department has arrested a man who shot a police officer.
Chief Steve Cooper said Brian Ogle, was wanted out of Tennessee when he got picked up by the Montgomery Police Department. Officers there arrested Bogle after a pursuit last week. Ogle was being treated at CAMC after sustaining injuries during his arrest in Montgomery.
Around 2:30 Saturday afternoon Ogle escaped Montgomery Police custody. Charleston Police were called in to help catch Ogle. A Charleston Officer ended up in a scuffle with Ogle in the alleyway behind the hospital. The suspect shot the Charleston Police Officer with the a Montgomery Police Officer’s firearm.
Chief Cooper is not yet releasing the name of the officer shot, but says he is OK.
Ogle has been arrested, but is back at CAMC General being treated for injuries. Investigators are in touch with the Kanawha County Prosecutor’s Office. They expect to charge Ogle with attempted murder.

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK)- Charleston Police are responding to an incident in an alleyway behind CAMC General hospital in downtown Charleston.
CAMC spokesman Dale Witte tells 13 News an inmate, being treated at CAMC General, escaped the custody of a corrections officer.
Witnesses at the hospital say the suspect obtained the officer’s gun and fired.
