Suspect arrested after multiple sheriff department involved pursuit

ROANE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – A suspect has been arrested following a pursuit involving multiple sheriff departments. 

According to a release, Brandon Smith, of Ona, was arrested after deputies say he led them on a pursuit from the James River Turnpike to Jenkins Creek.

Deputies say Smith’s vehicle overturned into the creek and he was apprehended.

Smith is being charged with felony fleeing with reckless disregard, driving revoked for DUI second offense, possession of crystal meth, battery on a police officer, obstructing an officer and the original charge of expired registration.

He is currently being held at Western Regional Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
