Students in our area memorialize victims of Florida school shooting

PRINCETON, W.Va. (WVNS) – Students in our area are doing what they can to honor the victims of the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida that killed 17 people.

As part of the Valentine Spirit week at Princeton Senior High School, students typically wear school colors.

Instead, students opted to wear the colors of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

This was their way of standing in support of those involved in that terrible situation.

“You know guys, we’re the change in society,” Student Body President Nisa Rana said. “We need to start educating ourselves more on issues in society, so we can implement them and take action when we’re adults ourselves.”

They also were planning to sell hats to raise money for their Student Council Friday. They will instead be donating that money to the victims of the Florida school shooting.
