The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is starting its ‘No Shave November’ fundraiser.

Deputies will be allowed to grow their beards to raise money. This year the department decided the proceeds will to go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Deputies must pay $30 to be able to participate.

Fayette County Sheriff, Mike Fridley, said this is a good way to give back to the community.

“Well we have some local families in our area that has been benefited by Make-A-Wish, and this is a way to give back. I called and actually talked to people from Make-A-Wish foundation and they said the money that we raise, will go back to people in Fayette County if needed,” Fridley said.

Their donation will support families in Fayette County that use Make-A-Wish. They will return back to their ‘No Beard Policy’ December 1.
