Filing For West Virginia’s 2018 Election Begins

Voting Laws

FAYETTE COUNTY, W. Va. (WVNS) — Filing for county and state political races began on Monday for the 2018 elections.

So far in Fayette County, only incumbents have filed. Off year elections primarily focus on fewer positions than you would see in a presidential election year. Voting for this election will be May 8th.

“I just think it’s really important that people file and put their names out there and run for office, if you want to somewhere this would be a good year to do that in filing for an executive committee position,” Fayette County Clerk, Kevin Holliday, said.

Deadline for filing is January 27th.
