CLEAR FORK, WV (WVNS) — For many students in Wyoming County, Sept. 3, 2019 will be the first day of school, but not for those who attend one of the county’s two high schools. The Wyoming County Board of Education (BOE) announced classes will not be held at Westside High School.

In a tweet from the BOE on Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, officials stated Westside will be closed due to a mechanical issue with the sewage system.

There is no word on what caused the issue or when it would be repaired. At this time only classes on Sept. 3 have been canceled.

The issue only affects students at Westside. All other students in Wyoming County will begin the first day of school as scheduled on Sept. 3.
