Governor Jim Justice announced thousands of dollars in grants to help communities across the region.

Governor Justice held a press conference on Monday at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine to discuss 14 different grants. These grants were distributed through the Land and Water Conservation Fund and the Recycling Assistance Grant Program.

Grants were awarded to solid waste authorities, county commissions, and municipalities across Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Monroe, Mercer, Raleigh, Summers and Wyoming Counties.

Justice said this money will help rejuvenate communities around the state.

“Every single year, every single day. We have a need, we have a need for many different projects in the communities. But all of these grants create another opportunity for someone else to come to West Virginia,” Justice said.
