WHITE SULFER SPRINGS, WV (WVNS) — While the state chamber of commerce meets in Greenbrier County, Governor Jim Justice was making some big announcements.

On August 28, 2019, Justice announced a new task force. The goal of the task force is to get a Petrochemical Plant to come to West Virginia and create thousands of jobs.

Justice named Austin Caperton as the head of the task force. Caperton is currently the Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection.

“We are going to sell the state of West Virginia and why it’s the best place in the entire world to put a Petrochemical facility,” Caperton said.

Caperton said he is up to the challenge of heading this task force and is humbled that he was chosen to be a leader.
