ST. LANDRY PARISH, LA (WAFB) -A woman is behind bars in connection with the rape of a young boy.
KATC in Lafayette reports Arnesha Louis, 21, of Opelousas, was arrested on Tuesday, April 24, on one charge of second-degree rape.
Deputies with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office say the investigation began on April 18 when the boy’s mother reported her son had been raped.
Detectives interviewed the 12-year-old boy, who said he was forced to have sexual intercourse with a female known by the family. After horse playing, Louis allegedly pulled off his pants and got on top of him and began to have sex with him.
The boy was able to give detectives key evidence of the rape, which led the detectives to interview Louis, according to an arrest report obtained by KATC.
During her interview, she allegedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the juvenile and stated “it was only an accident,” deputies say.
Louis was booked into the St. Landy Parish Prison.
