UPDATE: Tazewell PD Find People Accused of Destroying Welcome Sign

UPDATE 12/31/17 2:34 P.M. –

Officers with the Tazewell, Virginia Police Department thanked the community for helping them catch the people responsible for destroying a welcome sign.

On Dec. 30, 2017 officers said the people involved in wrecking the sign came forward.

Corporal Steele with the Tazewell Virginia Police Department said the suspects confessed to the incident.

At this time no names or charges have been released.

The Tazewell County Police Department is seeking the public’s help to find the driver responsible for destroying one of county’s welcome signs.

Before it was struck by a hit-and-run driver, the giant wooden sign once stood along West Main Street across from the H and R Block. 

The incident happened last Friday night, Dec. 22, 2017 between 10:30 p.m and 11 p.m.

Police said the driver was driving a silver 2009 Kia Optima which they were able to determine based on the damaged car parts that were left behind.
