12::30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2018 UPDATE: The man who is accused of killing Corey Henry was returned to West Virginia on Thursday, Aug. 16. Demorrea Curry was captured in Ohio at the beginning of August.
Curry was booked into the Southern Regional Jail at 6 p.m. on Thursday. He was arraigned and is being held without bond. Curry is charged with first degree murder.
1:15 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 UPDATE: Beckley Police have announced that the man wanted for the murder of Corey Henry has been captured. Demorrea Curry was arrested in Columbus, OH at around noon on Aug. 2.
Over the last week, Investigators said they received tips that Curry was in Columbus. The Beckley Police Department teamed up with the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force to make the arrest.
Curry will be extradited back to West Virginia where he will face a charge of first degree murder in the death of Corey Henry on April 10, 2018.
ORIGINAL STORY: Beckley Police are looking for a man wanted on 1st degree murder charges in connection to a shooting that happened in Beckley almost two weeks ago.
Beckley Police tell 59 News they are looking for 22-year-old Demorrea Juan Curry. Police say he is considered armed and dangerous.
Curry is described as 5’11”, 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
The shooting happened on West Neville Street on April 10, 2018. 40-year-old Corey Jerome Henry was shot and passed away the next day.

This is not Curry’s first run in with the law. When Curry was 16-year-old, he and four others were arrested for allegedly shooting a man in Beckley in January 2012.
Curry was tried as an adult and was supposed to be moved to the Penitentiary when he turned 18. His case was later reviewed in court and shows he was ‘a model resident. The court determined to send him to Anthony Correctional Center instead. Curry was eventually released.
