FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS) — Now that voting is over, canvassing has begun. Fayette County canvassed their votes early Monday, May 14 at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building.
This is something they do after every election, so they can have an accurate count of all ballots. Fayette County Commissioner, John Brenemen, said they enter all of the results into their new Express Vote machines to keep elections fair.
“Our citizens deserve to know the results of the elections; our candidates deserve to know the results of the elections, and this way we’re able to keep everything honest and above the board,” Brenemen said.
Express Vote was the new electronic system they used for the primary election, which made their canvass only last around an hour.
