Officer-involved shooting leaves suspect dead in Nicholas County

News

DRENNAN, WV (WVNS) — A suspect is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Nicholas County.

On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, West Virginia State Troopers and Nicholas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shots fired call in the Drennen area. Upon arrival, troopers and deputies found the suspect, 50-year-old Jack Naylor, who was armed with a rifle.

Troopers said Naylor pointed the rifle at law enforcement, and troopers shot at Naylor. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
