City National Bank robbery suspect

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — 12:15 p.m. Oct. 22 UPDATE: Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect who robbed the City National Bank on South Kanawha Street. The crime happened on Monday.

12:15 p.m. Oct. 21 UPDATE: Beckley Police detectives located the bicycle used by the bank robbery suspect. It was found about one block away on East Prince Street near the YMCA.

ORIGINAL STORY: Officers are on the scene of a bank robbery in Uptown Beckley. The crime occurred around 10:15 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, 2019.

It happened at the City National Bank on South Kanawha Street near the intersection with Main Street. Beckley Police are investigating the case.

According to detectives, the suspect is a man who was wearing a monkey mask, blue jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and white tennis shoes. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Investigators said the man left the bank on bicycle.
