Qualifying Round held for A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier

DANIELS, WV (WVNS) — Golf action did not just happen on the Old White Monday, Sept. 9. In Raleigh County at the Resort at Glade Springs, a few more golfers were looking to lock up a spot in Thursday’s Opening Round in White Sulphur Springs.

The Qualifying Round on the Cobb Course at Glade was held on Monday. Andrew Wood, Tournament Director for Tri-State PGA of America, said this gives players a last-minute opportunity to play on the PGA Tour.

“It’s a great experience for all these guys, and it’s fun for us because we get to see some bigger names come to the Qualifier that we only get to see on TV,” Wood said.

Steve Allen (-6) and Shintaro Ban (-5) earned the first two spots. Andrew Novak (-3) and Conrad Shindler (-3) earned the final two spots after a five-player playoff.
