Emergency crews were out in force on Sunday, April 14, 2019 following a line of severe thunderstorms which moved across southern West Virginia. Heavy winds, rain and hail led to some trees falling into roadways.
In Raleigh County, Dearing Drive was closed briefly while firefighters from the Bradley-Prosperity Volunteer Fire Department removed debris from the roadway.
In Fayette County, Route 60 was closed in the area of Hilton Village. This was due to downed trees. It was reported at around 9:30 p.m. Crews from the West Virginia Division of Highways were headed to the area to clear the road.
In McDowell County there were reports of trees blocking part of Route 52 between Sandy Huff and Iaeger. The Iaeger Fire Department is on the scene.
