Shots fired call in Surveyor leads to heroin arrest

SURVEYOR, WV (WVNS) — Raleigh County Deputies were called to the Surveyor area on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019 after there were reports of someone firing a gun. When they arrived in the Griffith Hollow area, a white pickup truck that was parked on the side of the road drove off.

Dep. M.D. Talley pulled the truck over. As it came to a stop a passenger jumped out and ran off. The driver, Heather Goodson, and another passenger, Gary Holstein, were found with 6.5 grams of heroin and 54 grams of Methamphetamine. The drugs are valued at around $6,400. Investigators also found two handguns and two rifles in the truck.

Goodson and Holstein are each charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver and felony conspiracy. They are being held in the Southern Regional Jail.

Deputies said there is a warrant for the arrest of the suspect who ran off. Anyone with information on the crime or the identity of that person is asked to submit tips to Crime Stoppers of West Virginia at the organization’s website. Rewards are available for information which leads to an arrest.
