Shuttles available on Bridge Day to avoid traffic

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS) — Bridge Day event coordinators are encouraging everyone to use shuttles for the event. People can find the shuttles on both the south-side and north-side of the bridge.

On the south-side, pick-ups will be at the Fayetteville High School, the Fayette County Court House, Fayette Landing Center, and the Fayetteville Walmart. On the north-side, people can find shuttles at Midland Trail High School and Smales Branch Road.

President of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, Becky Sullivan, said these shuttles will hopefully decrease traffic and headaches for those attending Bridge Day.

“It saves a lot of headache, it saves a lot of walking and you don’t have to fight for parking spots and you don’t have to fight the traffic,” Sullivan said. “All you do is park is park your car in the parking lot, get on a bus, they drop you off at the entrance and they take you back to your car.”

Those tickets are $3 per person at the parking lot. Those tickets are good for all day use. The shuttles are cash only and open at 8:30 a.m. The last ride to the bridge is at 2 p.m.
