GLEN DANIELS, WV (WVNS)– The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve is getting ready for their first outdoor archery classic on Saturday, Sept. 28. The classic is open to any school, community organization or church group in West Virginia, Virginia and Kentucky. The event is for all kids elementary through high school age.

Hunters Education Program Manager Chris Perkins said this will be a family fun event.

“Aside from the tournament we’re going to do some sporting arrows, some distance shooting,” Perkins said. “We are going to shoot some powder ball and also offer our climbing wall up as well as hawk toss. So all the participants as well as family members and friends and siblings can come and watch their shooter shoot and then they can also take part in the activities throughout the day.”

Spots are still available for the Archery Classic on Saturday. For registration information you can visit The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve.
