Veterans and their families are invited to come together for a free breakfast in Mercer County.  The annual Community Veterans Breakfast and Stand Down Event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at 9 a.m.  The event will take place at Princeton Church of God located on Oakvale Road.

The event is open to all veterans regardless of where they live.  Invitations have been sent to veterans organizations in West Virginia and Virginia.  The special guest speaker will by Gen. Sherman Williford, U.S. Army (Retired).

In conjunction with the breakfast, there will also be a Stand Down event being held by the Veterans Administration.  The VA typically provides supplies and services for homeless veterans.  Some of the things that they offer are food, shelter, clothing, health screening and VA Social Security benefits counseling.

The Disabled Veterans National Foundation will also participate in the Stand Down.  They will supply personal care kits to veterans.
