Virginia State Police partnered with the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday (Nov. 25) to ensure folks traveling on Route 460 through the county were safely buckled up, sober and traveling the speed limit.   As part of the “Drive 2 Save Lives” initiative, the state troopers and sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic safety checkpoint on Route 460, east of Route 638, in Buchanan County on November 25, 2017.   The effort netted a total of 18 summonses that ranged from failure to have a valid driver’s license to equipment violations.

State police are asking for all motorists to help prevent additional traffic deaths during the remainder of 2017, especially as we head into the heavily-traveled holiday season.  Drive smart, safe and sober.
