Miss Amazing gives women with special needs a chance to shine

Virginia News

A young woman from Virginia doesn’t let her disabilities hold her back from her pageant dreams. 21-year-old Amanda Chandler proudly wears her hard-earned tiara.

Born with a rare disability and told she would never walk, she was recently crowned Junior Miss at Miss Amazing Virginia. It’s a pageant for women and girls with special needs that showcases their abilities instead of disabilities.

Her mother said the pageant has made a huge impact on her daughter, and for Chandler, it’s been a journey she will never forget.

She recalled being overcome with emotion when she was crowned Junior Miss.

“I almost cried,” Chandler said.

Now Chandler and her family are traveling to Chicago to compete for the National Title.
