ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) The Mountain Valley Pipeline has asked federal regulators for permission to begin construction activities in Giles County.

In a letter filed last Friday, the company asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to issue a Notice to Proceed by February first.

A spokesman for the company said the request covers all construction-related activities, however the request does not include all parcels or locations in Giles County.

The company said a specific date for the start of construction hasn’t been set, but the work is expected to begin with tree felling in West Virginia.
