West Virginia’s First Lady, Cathy Justice, held a reception at the West Virginia State Culture Center on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018.  During the event she unveiled the 2018 Holiday Ornament.

The ornament is made of West Virginia Sugar Maple and is shaped in the outline of the Mountain State.  It was designed by Maddie Farmer and Casi Pourfarhadi of Wild River Artistry in Charleston, WV.

“This ornament showcases our state’s booming timber industry and reminds everyone who sees it that timber is one of our most valuable resources,” said First Lady Justice. “I could not be more proud of these local artisans and their incredible work on our ornament.”

The ornament is available at the Culture Center and at Tamarack.  It costs $25, and a portion of the sales will be donated to the West Virginia Governor’s Mansion Preservation Fund.
