Beckley City Council passes new trick-or-treat hours

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS)- Beckley City Council passed new Trick-or-Treat hours at a last meeting on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

The council decided to move the city’s trick-or-treat hours. Raleigh County has a 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. window, but the city decided to do a 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. window. Tim Berry, a member of the Beckley City Council, said this is different from what they have done in the past.

“We used to do them 5-7, but you’re working people who give out candy sometimes can’t get in from work so if we started at 5:30, then they have time to get in from work, so they can get candy ready for the kids,” Berry said.
