KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – Deputies are investigating an attempted abduction of a child in Kanawha County.

An eleven-year-old boy was walking on Circle Drive in Cross Lanes on his way home Tuesday evening from his school bus stop at Cross Lanes Drive.

While walking, a pickup going toward Cross Lanes Drive stopped next to him.

A man in the passenger seat grabbed him by the arm and said “get in”.

The boy struck the man and was able to pull away from him and then run home.

The boy identified the man who attempted to pull him into the truck as an older white male with salt and pepper hair, glasses and wearing a long sleeve shirt.

He described the driver as a white male around the same age, with a dark colored baseball cap, and a brown chin strap style beard.

The pick-up truck was described as a silver, two-door, extended cab pick-up truck.

Anyone with any information pertaining to this case can call the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office at 304-357-0200.
