Car accident causes more than 1,000 power outages in Fayette County

MOSSY, W. Va. (WVNS)– More than one thousand people are without power in Fayette County Monday morning following a car accident. 

According to dispatchers, a car hit a power pole around 9:00 a.m. in Mossy near Oakey Patterson Road.

Oakey Patterson road is closed from Route 19 to Scarbro Road.

As of 9:30 a.m. more than 1,600 people are without power around the Oak Hill and Mossy areas. 

No injuries have been reported and no word when power will be restored at this time.
