Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley received a donation from a local community organization on Tuesday, March 26, 2019.  Cheryl Jonese of Community Connections, Inc., provided the Sheriff’s Department with cut resistant gloves.

The gloves will be used in the field when deputies are doing searches.  They are lined with Kevlar.  Deputies were also provided with Narcan overdose kits.

The money for the equipment came from a grant provided by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau of Behavioral Health and Health Facilities Prescription Drug Overdose.  The Narcan kits were also given out to departments in Mercer, Wyoming and Raleigh Counties.
