A Fayette County woman is facing DUI charges for hitting a pedestrian with a vehicle.

In a press release, Sheriff Mike Fridley said dispatchers received a call from the Lansing area, where a woman was reportedly struck by a vehicle on Chestnutburg Road. Upon arrival, responders found a 70-year-old woman from Missouri was hit by a Jeep. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

Fridley said the driver of the Jeep, 41-year-old Kellie Kathleen Colvard of Victor, admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the accident.  Preliminary tests indicated she was nearly twice over the legal limit.

Colvard was arrested and charged with DUI Causing Bodily Injury and DUI 1st Offense. She is awaiting arraignment in the Southern Regional Jail.
