Fayette County woman sentenced on drug charges

A Fayette County woman was sentenced Tuesday, May 7, 2019 for transporting pills and drug paraphernalia.

Prosecutors said Clarissa Crist was sentenced to eight years in prison on felony drug conspiracy charges and between one and 15 years in prison for delivery of methamphetamines. Those sentences will run consecutively.

Cris pleaded guilty to the charges in on March 19, 2019.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy was patrolling the Hilltop/Glen Jean area Saturday, June 9th, 2018,  when he encountered a van leaving a known narcotics location. The deputy executed a traffic stop on the van shortly thereafter when it committed a traffic offense.

The deputy located numerous pills, scales,  baggies for packaging, a torch, spoon and a sum of cash in possession of Crist.
