SAVANNAH, GA (WVNS) — Two firefighters with the Oak Hill Fire Department stepped up to help several semi drivers who were stuck on a busy highway due to icy road conditions.
Rodney Woodson and Trent Rust were on their way with family to Florida for a cruise when they got stuck in traffic for more than 8 hours on I-95 in Savannah, Georgia. The two later found out the reason traffic was backed up was because several semis were stuck on an icy bridge.
The two, who are used acting quickly during an emergency, decided to take matters into their own hands- and it was all caught on video.
The video shows Woodson and Rust hooking the semis up to their pick-up trucks and pulling them across the bridge. Woodson said they pulled a total of 5 semis out of the way of traffic.
Good news, Woodson said they are scheduled to make it to their cruise in time.
