Man arrested for attacking another man with knife

OAK HILL, W. Va. (WVNS)– A Fayette County man has been arrested after police said he cut another man in the head with a knife during a fight. 

On May 14, 2018, Officers responded to a home on Country Club Road in Oak Hill and found a man with severe cuts on his face and hands. The victim told authorities Ricky Griffin attacked him. A witness at the house told officers she heard arguing and saw Griffin attack the victim. 

While at the home officers saw Griffin walking down the street but the suspect ran when he saw police.

When officers were able to stop Griffin he told them he did not know what happened to the victim but he would take the blame. 

Griffin later said he did fight with the victim because he owed him money.

According to court documents, a knife belonging to Griffin was found with blood traces on the blade and handle. 
He remains in the Southern Regional Jail on 5,000 bond.
