According to witnesses, Batey Jr. and two other people were walking along the trail when they ran into two other people. Witnesses said they saw Batey Jr. and another man with guns in their hand and they ran off when they heard gunshots.
According to court documents, officers were able to identify Batey Jr. from the city’s surveillance video in the area.
He was arrested on Sunday, July 29.
