OAK HILL, WV (WVNS) — A man is in jail for pouring floor stripper throughout a Department of Highway building in Oak Hill and leaving a threatening letter to a DOH employee.

Oak Hill Police arrested Carlos Lee Richmond Junior of Sandstone on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.

Police said they responded to the incident on September 5 for a destruction of property complaint. Richmond allegedly poured 15 gallons of floor stripping chemicals throughout the Department of Highway building.

Police said the repairs would cost more than $2,500, and employees were unable to use the building for the day because of the smell and it being a slipping hazard.

Police report Richmond also left an 8-page letter filled with threats toward a DOH worker. Richmond is charged with destruction of property, making terroristic threats and willful disruption of governmental process. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he is now in jail on a $50,000 bond.
