On the Road: Zipline Adventure

Fayette County

Souring through the mountains of West Virginia will have you feeling like Tarzan! It’s a high flying adventure called ziplining..where nothing but a harness and a few sturdy cables keep you locked in as you glide from one canopy to another.

Not to worry, it’s completely safe and ACE adventure zipline guides like Chelsea Bricker make sure all guests are suited up properly in a harness and brief them on ways to stay safe while hanging and taking off on the lines.

“This is a gravity break zipline system so it’s designed for anyone between 70 and 250 pounds to make it to the other side of the zipline safely and at a reasonal speed,” Bricker said. “That being said you can lift up your legs, you can put your arms out if you need to slow down, you can cannon ball if you need to speed up.”

The lines on the course reach lengths from 200 to 800 ft and give you a breathtaking view of the new River Gorge almost everytime. They also pose some exciting challenges …like walking across rope bridges and keeping your balance in a tree house.

“We have nine ziplines and two sky bridges and we’re the only zipline course that actually has views of the New River Gorge so that sets us apart from other ziplines in the area,” Bricker added. “Also, all of our zips are tandem so you can race your friends or your family.”

Racing forward and even falling backwards, zipling at ACE is a great way for people to literally hang out..while getting one of the best views in West Virginia.
