Serious accident on Route 19 sends 2 to the hospital

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS) — Deputies in Fayette County were called to an accident which shutdown the northbound lanes of Route 19 for about 90 minutes on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018.  It happened at around 2 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 19 and Appalachian Drive between Oak Hill and Fayetteville.

There were two vehicles involved in the crash.  According to investigators, two people in one of the vehicles were taken to an area hospital with potentially serious injuries.  The person in the other vehicle had minor injures.

Crews from fire departments in Oak Hill and Fayetteville responded to the accident.  The cause of the collision is still under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
