Southern WV is the destination for extreme sports championships in 2018

Glen Jean, WV will be the site for the 2018 Spartan North American Championship.  It will be hosted by USA Functional Fitness (USAFF) and Spartan.  The two day competition takes place on Aug. 25 and 26.

The competition will be held at the Summit Bechtel Family Scout Reserve in Fayette County.  It is presented by Wild, Wonderful West Virginia and is part of the Spartan’s 2018 Global Championship Series which takes place in more than 30 countries.

Athletes will compete in six tests to show off their abilities.  Areas of focus will include aerobic capacity, strength, power and skill proficiency.  Athletes selected for the USA Functional Fitness National Team will be invited to the world championships in London, England from Oct. 5-7.
