Tribute event for Fayetteville High Schools closing

A group of Fayetteville High School alumni are organizing a tribute event.

The tribute event is to recognize the closing of the school that has been opened since 1923.

It is called, “Light the Town Green.” There will be a number of events going on Thursday, August 2.

Everything starts at 8 p.m. in Downtown Fayetteville in front of the Courthouse. 

There will be speeches and performances, and everyone is encouraged to wear green.

Fayetteville High School will be closing its doors at the end of the 2019 school term.
