Candidates announced for Lewisburg municipal election

The field is set for the Greenbrier County seat’s municipal election.

According to the city of Lewisburg’s Facebook page, the following candidates for mayor and city council were certified with the City Recorder’s office after nominating conventions were held.

Representing the Citizen’s Party, Beverly White is running for mayor. On the same party ticket for City Council, Sarah Elkins and Ed Johns will be running for a four-year term, and Arron Seams for a two-year term.

For the People’s Party, Mark Carver is seeking the mayorship, while Thomas Shannon and Martha Hilton are running for a four-year term on City Council. Donald (Joe) Taylor is on the ticket for the two-year seat on council.

The election is slated for June 11.
