Crews battle brush fire in Greenbrier County

Oct. 4, 10 p.m. UPDATE: The brush fire is contained. A crew member is still on scene to make sure the fire remains contained throughout the night.

SMOOT, WV (WVNS) — Multiple departments are on the scene of a large brush fire in Greenbrier County.

According to dispatchers, they received reports of the fire at 3:20 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4. Dispatchers told 59News flames could be seen along Lorenza Ridge Road in the Smoot area.

Smoot, Clintonville, Rupert, Rainelle, Alderson, Quinwood and Tri County Fire Departments are still on scene.
