LEWISBURG, W. Va. (WVNS) — Students at Davis Stuart are learning how to whip up a tasty meal, but also getting more involved in their community.
Culinary Arts students spent Wednesday, May 9th, 2018, preparing homemade food for a pancake supper.
While the students were learning new skills in the kitchen, they also served dinner to guests.
Culinary Arts Instructor, Lisa Carter, said getting students out in the public more, will help them become more comfortable in the community they live.
“It helps them to learn more about hospitality. That’s what West Virginia is really famous for, our tourism. It would be great for them to know how to deal with people a little bit better,” Carter said.
Carter added the hospitality skills they learned will hopefully get them prepared for life once they graduate from Davis Stuart.
