LEWISBURG, W. Va. (WVNS) —  Tuesday, May 8, 2018,  is the day candidates have been waiting for, as polls open bright and early.

However, there are a few things poll workers want voters to know before casting their votes.

Poll workers ask that some form of identification is brought to precincts, which can be anything from a voters card, to an electric bill. They also remind people that voter registration is over, so those who are not registered will not be able to vote Tuesday.

Greenbrier County Clerk, Robin Loudermilk, said for any first time voters who need help, there will be people designated to give assistance.

“If anybody needs assistance, the poll clerks can help you. A Democrat or Republican will assist you. There is a voters assistance form you can fill out if you need help,” Loudermilk said.

Loudermilk added, if anyone is willing to be an alternate poll worker for the primary, call the County Clerk’s Office.

Greenbrier County will have 29 precincts set up throughout the county. Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
