LEWISBURG, W. Va. (WVNS) —  This 2018 Primary Election was a first for many candidates, but one candidate in Greenbrier County hasn’t even graduated high school.

Isaiah Stanley, a junior at Greenbrier West High School, ran for House of Delegates in the 42nd District. Running on the Democratic ticket, Stanley faced tough competition.

Even though the outcome was not what Stanley was hoping, he said he is proud to have encouraged so many younger people to get out and vote.

“A lot of people have told me I’m an inspiration to them, I’ve inspired a lot of younger kids to get out and vote,” Stanley said.

Stanley said he plans to run in the next Primary Election.
