Pres. Trump meets with locals during GOP Retreat visit

Greenbrier County

LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVNS) – President Donald J. Trump’s visit to Southern West Virginia kicked off in Lewisburg.

President Trump arrived by Air Force One Thursday afternoon at the Greenbrier Valley Airport.

The President was greeted by more than 100 VIPs at the airport where he walked to the rope line to shake hands with people who came out to see him.

One of those people was Mike Richardson from Cool Ridge. He said meeting the president, for just a split second, was the thrill of a lifetime.

“It puts a lump in your throat, buddy,” Richardson said. “It really does. He represents what we stand for. He likes working people and I think he loves America.”

The president shook hands and took photos for about five minutes with guests on the tarmac before leaving in the motorcade to head to The Greenbrier Resort for the GOP Legislative Retreat.
