At grocery stores all over Greenbrier County, like IGA Cornerstone, customers are emptying shelves by the minute.
Manager, Matthew Cutlip, said things like cases of water, jugs of milk, and loaves of bread are going quickly.
“They get ahead of the storm,” Cutlip said. “They’re here before it’s too late.”
It is recommended to stock up to a three-day supply for each family member, including pets. Products like canned, packaged, and non perishable food and drinks that do not need to be refrigerated should be the first items on the grocery list.
While food is an essential concern, keeping tabs on all necessary supplies that are already being grabbed off the shelves like toilet paper, batteries, and flashlights should be in the cart incase the worst happens.
