Woman arrested for stealing car, taking it to Virginia

Fairlea, W. Va. (WVNS)- A Greenbrier County woman faces a grand larceny charge after a car and gun were reported stolen.

According to court documents, Skylar Cohernour was arrested on April 13, 2018 after she reportedly stole a car, gun and credit card from a man in Greenbrier County.

A man told authorities he let Cohernour and another person stay at his house. On February 23, 2018 he woke up to find his Hyundai Sonata and a gun was gone. The man later found out his credt card was used the previous day without his permission.

Authorities later found the gun was sold to another person in the area and was able to recover the gun near the White Sulphur Springs swimming pool.

On February 25, 2018 the missing car was found in Allegheny County, Virginia.

Cohernour has been charged with grand larceny for stealing the vehicle. She was given $10,000 bond and remains in jail.
