One killed from gunshot wound in McDowell County, suspect in custody

UPDATE: 11/22 3 PM

Troopers arrested 25-year-old, Shane Hagerman, for allegedly shooting a man in McDowell County.

Troopers received a call about a reported shooting at Hagerman’s home in Raysal. When they arrived, they found a 41-year-old man dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the neck. 

After further investigation, troopers discovered a fight took place between Hagerman and the victim. That’s when Hagerman shot the victim.

Hagerman is charged with First Degree Murder. 

According to West Virginia state troopers, a suspect is in custody after one person was killed in Raysal, McDowell County.

Dispatchers confirm the call came in at 3:34 a.m. on Thursday, November 22, 2018. The exact location of the scene in Raysal has not yet been released. Jan Care Ambulance EMT’s and Raysal Volunteer firefighters also assisted on-scene.

Troopers told 59 News the victim died from a gunshot wound.

The identities of the suspect and victim are unknown at this time.
