It was the beginning of a new holiday tradition in Princeton.
Community members gathered at the Chuck Mathena Center Tuesday, November 28th for the first annual community Christmas tree lighting. City council members did the honor of lighting the night sky with a handmade tree. Fredeking-Stafford Construction Company built the Christmas tree with nearly 800 lights. Candace Wilson, Executive Director at the Chuck Mathena Center said this is a great event to get the community into the holiday spirit.
“Come together, say hi, have some hot chocolate and just have an event everyone can enjoy,” said Wilson.
Community members sang Christmas Carols along with the Princeton Madrigal Choir. The tree will be lit every now leading to Christmas.
