Wet weather in the mountains creates for saturated ground and can lead to flooding.

Bluefield Rescue Squad said to be very careful going out anywhere this weekend and to be patient.

Sean Cantrell, with Bluefield EMS, said safety is key when it comes to flooding.

“Stay away from high waters. A lot of times the water doesn’t look like it’s very deep until you get in it so don’t try and risk it,” Cantrell explained.

Cantrell also said to keep kids away from high waters because you never know what kind of situations could arise with flooding.
