Bluefield WV K9 helps bring Virginia fugitive into custody

Officers with the Bluefield, WV police department tracked down a fugitive from Virginia on Monday, May 14, 2018.  At around 11 a.m. detectives were tipped off that David Crockett was hiding out in the area of Fincastle Lane.

When investigators arrived at the scene, Crockett ran off into the woods.  Detective Williams and Patrolman Fox set up a perimeter to contain Crockett and began tracking him down. 

K9 Unit, Thor, was called in and found Crockett hiding in some bushes just a few minutes later.  That is when Crockett surrendered.  

He was arrested and charged with being a fugitive of justice from Tazewell County, Virginia and parole violations.  Crockett is being held in the Bluefield City Jail until he can be arraigned.
